Use the resources below as we continue our children's series about the Armor of God. This week we will focus on the second piece of armor that the apostle Paul mentions to the Ephesian church- the Breastplate of Righteousness. After fastening your Belt of Truth, you must ask Jesus to help put on your righteousness. It is too heavy to carry on your own. Once you know the truth of God's word, you only have to ask Jesus to help make you righteous...and he WILL! Kid's MessageFamily Discussion"Without the belt of truth, you are left with the burdensome responsibility of carrying the full weight of your own 'breastplate'- our righteousness." - Priscilla Shirer
As we discuss the role of the breastplate of righteousness, talk about what righteousness looks like to each of us. Discuss how trying to carry our own righteousness is too great a burden to carry on our own without Jesus. Just like an armorbearer who puts on the armor for his master, so Jesus does the heavy lifting for each of us...all we have to do is ask him. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and discuss with your child.
