Following Jesus Together.
Time and time again the Bible shows God choosing broken men and women to proclaim hope, extend grace, and bring restoration in the world. In our congregation, we see God do that everyday.
THE PATHWAY
Through his free gift of grace that was offered on the cross, Jesus invites all of His followers to surrender their brokenness to him and live a new life in submission to the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. But what does that look like?
At First Brethren, we see three key steps on the journey...

Experience faith in jesus
The first step in any spiritual journey is simply to respond to the grace of Jesus in faith. Faith isn't something we accomplish. It is a response to the reality of God at work.
grow in shared hope with community
Every good journey involves growth. When we pursue God personally and with others, we discover that hope begins to shape our everyday lives.
share god's love with the world
The goal of our jouney is Christlikeness. As we experience faith and grow in hope, we find that we cannot help but to share with others the love that God so freely gave to us. Each of us have unique gifts and personalities that help us to share God's love!
So, what’s your next step?
For some the next step is simply gaining an awareness of God's activity in their life. For others, the next step is getting involved in a discipling community. Some have been involved in church life for years but have yet to find a way to share their faith in their workplace or neighborhood - that is their next step. Whatever your next step is, our staff and leaders want to walk alongside you in this journey of following Jesus!

COMPANIONS ON THE JOURNEY
Life with God offers incredible hope, but the journey is not always easy. We sometimes encounter our deepest breakthroughs in the darkest nights of the soul. In God's infinite wisdom and grace, we do not have to go it alone.

iNTERIOR lIFE
Grow private practices and habits that deepen your relationship with God.
We were made to know and be known by God. No amount of religious activity can take the place of the simple desire to live life with God. Need some guidance on how to slow down and listen? Check out our devotional guide for some ideas to get started.

dEEP FRIENDSHIPS
Deepen relationships that empower, guide, and challenge for growth.
Few things are more important in our spiritual growth than trusted friends to help us when we are weak. Building these relationships requires work and vulnerability, but it is so worth it. Contact Pastor Cory for thoughts on how to seek out and invest in a mentor relationship.

SMALL GROUPS
Cultivate shared life of faith with other followers of Jesus.
Celebrate, pray, eat, serve, laugh, grieve, learn. Life with Jesus is full of adventure, and the journey is so much more meaningful when it is shared with friends. Want to find a small group? Check out our current groups below, and contact Pastor Jeff for more information on how to get connected!

THE LARGER FAMILY
Regularly gather in praise and encouragement with the community of faith.
When we get together for large-group worship, we are doing more than singing songs and listening to the pastor talk. We are shaping ourselves around a shared story with people on the same journey. Check out our "plan your visit" page and join us Sunday at 10am!

Small Groups
Our women's gathering seeks to create a space to feel known - providing an environment for conversation about following God and giving Him away. Every other Tuesday, ladies gather here at the church for spiritual discussion using guides from IF: Gathering.

Our church hosts a Phase 3 (P3) small group for men through Marked Men for Christ to help sharpen relationships between men and strengthen men's relationships with God. Men who are interested should go through the introductory weekend event (P1) and follow-up small group (P2) before getting plugged in to the ongoing group. Check out the Marked Men website for upcoming P1 events near you - our men most commonly invest in the Midwest event at Camp Mack in Milford, IN.
Our P3 group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month here at the church. |
