pastoral internship

Explore Your Call. Find Your Fit. Build the Kingdom.

Goshen First Brethren Church strives to grow in Jesus’ image, to love unconditionally as God loves us, and to share that good news with the community around us. As a part of this call to radical discipleship, compassionate witness, and community engagement, we are eager to invest in young and diverse leaders that can translate the Gospel for a new generation.

Pastoral Interns will gain hands-on ministry experience in the areas of worship, Christian education, and outreach, and as part of their training will take assessments to discover their own leadership gifts, personality, and fit. Interns will work with a mentor and small cohort to process and apply what they are learning about themselves in ministry.

Interns work 30+ hours per week at $10 per hour for 8 weeks during the summer of 2020, funded by a grant from the Forum of Theological Exploration (FTE). Housing is provided.

PURPOSE: To explore meaningful ministry under the guidance of a mentor in order to clarify a call to ministry. To prepare as young leaders for change by investing in understanding identity, health, giftedness, and environment.

  • Helping to plan and supervise ministry in at least one of the following areas: worship, children’s ministry, youth ministry, young adult ministry, visitation, hospitality, outreach/service.
