Plan Your Visit on Easter Sunday

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at First Brethren Church a great one.

Important Times

Sunrise Service -
Breakfast -
Morning Worship - 10:00am

Where to Go

We're on the corner of W Clinton & 2nd St, right beside the Fire Station and just a few blocks away from Main St. Most people take the alley to park in our lot behind the church and come in the side entrance.

What to Expect

Our Easter services are meant to carve out a special time for individuals and families of all ages to remember the gift of Jesus' cross and resurrection. In total, the morning worship service is about 75 minutes in length. We will sing some songs, pray, read, reflect, and generally have a good time celebrating Jesus. Song books (hymnals) will be available in the seats, and lyrics will also be projected on the screen so you can sing along. After sharing some songs and readings together, our pastor will share an encouraging message about Jesus.

What About My Kids?

We believe that kids should have always have a blast at church, but this is especially true for our Easter service. Our time together will feature a special kids' message, Easter songs loved by all ages, and even a special bulletin designed just for them with activities to help them stay engaged during the message.

Sunday School classes are offered for Pre-K thru 6th grade every week at 9am, and nursery is available during the 10am worship service. Kids are welcome in our service, and we intentionally design our services to help kids participate and grow a love for church!

The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. The first time that you visit you want to leave yourself an extra 10 minutes to get signed for the kids' experience in Sunday School and make sure that everyone gets oriented as to where your kids will be. All sign-ins take place at the welcome table by the nursery.

Sunrise Service & Breakfast

In addition to our normal Sunday School and worship service, we have a tradition of gathering earlier in the morning on Easter for a short time of prayer and reflection (7:30am) followed by breakfast (8:15am).

In the resurrection accounts of the Gospels, we read that the first witnesses of the empty tomb arrived in the early morning, and the following accounts often note Jesus' appearances with the disciples during meal times. In remembrance, we like to gather to read a few of those stories, pray, sing a hymn or two, and enjoy some good food together.
